PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive high-speed current limiting and interrupt device, herein stored in a superconducting reactor can be consumed easily. SOLUTION: In single-phase rectifying bridge circuit comprising diodes D1, D2, D3, D4 and a superconducting reactor L1, a resistor R1 and a switch SW1 connected in parallel are series-connected with the diodes D1, and similarly, a resistor R2 and a switch SW2 connected in parallel are seriesconnected with the diodes D3. If a short circuit occurs in a power system and an overcorrect is passed through the single-phase rectifying bridge circuit, during a half cycle in which no current is passed, the switch SW1 is opened and the resistor R1 is inserted, and during the next half cycle, the switch SW2 is opened, and the resistor R2 is inserted. As a result, a circuit breaker CB1 is opened within a short time after the occurrence of a short circuit, and energy stored in the superconducting reactor L1 is consumed through the resistors R1, R2. |
