ADAPTIVE BUFFERING ALLOCATION UNDER MULTIPLE QUALITY OF SERVICE

A method is described for allocating buffers in a packet switched communication system offering different classes of service, each class of service being associ ated with a QoS queue. The optimal buffering is determined when a new packet for a particula r QoS class arrives. The buffer limit is for the queue associated with said particular class in accordance with the determination, and new packet is handled according to the ne wly set buffer limit.
