<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the local perception of the quantization error of a color in the fixed image encoded from non-encoded reference images and the encoded test image. SOLUTION: This method includes a conversion process for performing calculation over the entire window (11) corresponding to the vicinity of the point (i, j) relating to the chroma (color) component (C*avgi ,j ) and a hue component (havgi ,j ), a fluctuation difference calculation process for supplying the average fluctuation values of chroma and hue over the entire present window by the total of the fluctuation differences over the plural points of the window, an application process for calculating a perception color difference between the colors of the respective points and the average color over the entire present window of the reference image 1 and the test image 2, a color difference calculation process for calculating the color difference corresponding to the total of the secondary form of the chroma fluctuation value and the hue fluctuation value and a local perception calculation process for calculating the local perception of the quantization error of the color of the fixed image.</p> |
