PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously record continuous video data in disk array without any interruption, and to continuously reproduce the data from the disk array. SOLUTION: Sufficient data are held in the surrounding of the present position of a cache 14, and which data should be inputted to the cache is predicted according to the present position and operating state of the cache 14 so that it is possible to respond to an operation for changing the operating state of a video recorder 10. A data witting space is preserved in the cache according to the instruction of a cache tag table corresponding to a prediction step for turning the data into the flow of continuous data by the cache 14. At the time of a recording operation, data are continuously transferred from an outside device to the preserved space in the cache, and at the time of a reproducing operation, the data are transferred from a disk array 12 to the preserved space in the cache by each block. |
