The supporting device for a camera has a car which rolls on a pair of rails (3) where the pair of rails (2) are of a circular cross-section and each of the rails have a roller (9,10) which symmetrically grip their respective rail on its periphery. The axle encloses an angle of about 90 degrees whose respective rails pass between the middle point. The built pair of wheels has another roller assigned whose axle is parallel to those of the roller pair. The car (1) may be seen with a braking device (12) which may be shown gripping on to the two braking pieces (21) of the rails. They may be controlled by a reduction ratio control device (13). The control device may have a reduction ratio belt drive (26) whose output wheel (25) works together with a threaded spindle (14).
