PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a good recording by preventing generation both of a white streak at the boundary of scanning region under 1 pulse print mode for printing one region by single scanning, and a black streak at the boundary in decimation multipath print mode for printing one region by a plurality of times of scanning. SOLUTION: In decimation multipath print mode, an extra paper feed (2.5μm) is conducted in addition to a reference paper feed corresponding to the number of nozzles determined by dividing the nozzle array in a recording head by 4. Consequently, a dot being formed by subsequently scanning can be separated from a dot formed by previous scanning within a range of 2.5μm, 5μm, 7.5μm or 10μm and thereby overlap of dots can be reduced at the boundary. In 1 pulse print mode, paper feed is reduced furthermore by canceling 4 time paper feed in the decimation multipath print mode an overlap of dots is prepared for paper feed error.
