PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head capable of making the whole small and inexpensive and stably introducing a light beam having a desired wavelength to a corresponding lens by simple control. SOLUTION: Recording or reproduction of information is performed in optical recording media 2, 4. In this case, this head comprises a variable wavelength laser 1 selectively transmitting a first light beam and a second light beam whose wavelengths are different from each other, a first lens 3 and second lens 5 for recording or reproduction and a wavelength selective optical element 8 for interchanging the optical path so as to introduce the first light beam transmitted from the variable wavelength laser 1 to the first lens 3 and the second light beam to the second lens 5. |
