SYNCHRONIZATION SYSTEM OF ATM EXCHANGE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of cell processing in the ATM exchange system by maintaining the synchronization of a cell carrier clock and a uni-cell frame between configuration devices to the utmost with respect to the synchronization system of the ATM exchange system. SOLUTION: In the ATM exchange system 100 consisting of pluralities of configuration device 110 that transfer cells and process them mutually, the configuration devices 110 send/receive multi-cell frames FM having a period longer than that of uni-cell frames generated by a build-in multi-frame phase synchronization oscillation circuit 700 and having a period equal to a transfer interval of each cell to maintain synchronization between the configuration device 110 and execute stable cell processing and the transfer cell is received via a clock buffer circuit 600 to set optionally a transmission line length between the configuration devices 110.
