The circuit includes a clear LED to warn of cocked state of rifle. The safety system for use with a gun comprises a pair of illuminated markers (3,9) which are intended to show when the gun is cocked ready for use. The circuit comprises a main circuit with a light emitting diode (3), a 100 ohm resistance (4), a battery power source (5), and a switch contact (6) which is closed by the action of the movement of the mechanism when the gun is primed. The main circuit may also include an on-off switch (7). There may also be a secondary circuit which uses the same battery and on-off switch, and which includes a second light emitting diode (9) and further 100 ohm resistance to provide an indication when the circuit is active.
