Profiled half-sections (12,12'), e.g. U-shaped sections, are formed (100) and filled (110) with rigid foam (20,20'). Recesses or projections are machined (120) into the filler and the sections are cut to length (130). Two half-sections are then joined with adhesive along a keyed joint formed by the recesses and projections.
