If a reset signal Vrst is supplied to a printer (1), an external reset signal (VO) which can be recognized in a software manner is supplied to a CPU (61). The CPU (61) stores the time when it recognizes the signal (VO) in a nonvolatile RAM (62) as a reset time. Then, the CPU (61) judges whether the reset is intentional or not based on the reset time intervals which are determined from the past reset times. If it is not an intentional reset, the CPU (61) instructs an ink system (80) to do cleaning at a proper processing level. If it is an intentional reset, the CPU (61) instructs the ink system (80) to do cleaning at the initialization level.
|
