Control system for auxiliary drive system for hybrid vehicle

The control system is described for an auxiliary drive system for a hybrid vehicle with an engine, a generator driven by it, a battery charged by the generator's output current and a load driven by not only the battery and the generator. It comprises a rectifier which converts a three phase current from the generator into DC, a smoothing circuit for the output waveform of the generator, and a protection device which is located in the smoothing circuit. The battery and/or the load and which switches the power that is applied not only to the battery but also to the load; a main control circuit which judges the input signal from each section of the control system, passes a control signal to each section and controls the auxiliary drive system and each section of the control system; and an engine constant speed control section which controls the engine at a constant speed by determining an engine throttle position signal and an engine speed signal and which controls an engine on/off state by means of signal communication between itself and the main control circuit.
