PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject protein useful for production of, e.g. an antibody used for, e.g. diagnosis of or vaccine for Chlamydia trachomatis infection diseases by binding a plurality of amino acid residue to the amino terminals through the peptide bonds to exhibit immunological activity. SOLUTION: This protein has 6 amino acid residue, shown by one of formulae I to V, bound to the amino terminals through the peptide bonds, so as to exhibit immunological activity. It is preferable to produce the major outer membrane protein of Chlamydia trachomatis by inserting its gene into a manifestation vector, genetic transformation of Escherichia coli, culturing the transformed E. coli under a condition that allows manifestation of the protein, and collecting the manifested protein from the transformed E. coli. It is also preferable to use the protein as the antigen for assay of an antibody of Chlamydia trachomatis. |
