The lock barrel rotated by a key comprises a housing (6) in which a trapezoidal obturator (7) slides. The obturator slides between withdrawn and obturating positions under the action of a spring (8). There is a key slot (11) in a cap covering the front face of the barrel which retains the obturator and the spring.
