The fastener for a canvas cover (2) comprises fixing studs (3) on the edge (4) of the cover and reception member (5) for the fastener (6) such as an extensible strap. The fastener is composed of two pieces (7,8) which sandwich the cover. One of the pieces has a male end able to be inserted into a female opening (11) in the other piece.
