PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute excellent thermally fixing processing and to obtain a formed image having high image quality by periodically or continuously rotating and heating a rotary pressing member at the halt period of fixing operation. SOLUTION: A nip part (n) is formed by bringing an electromagnetic induction heating assembly 1 as a heating means and a pressure roller 24 as the rotary pressing member into mutual press-contact. The nip part (n) is heated by the electromagnetic induction heat generation of fixing film 20 at a process to hold and carry a recording material P together with the fixing film 20, so that an unfixed toner image (t) on the recording material P is heated and fixed. Then, a control program to drive the pressure roller 24 so as to execute five rotations for every one minute by controlling the driver of the pressure roller driving means of an image heating device 10 by a control circuit even at a printing halt period is set at the control circuit. Thus, the pressure roller 24 is heated at the halt period of the fixing operation, so that excellent thermally fixing processing is executed and the formed image having the high image quality is obtained. |
