PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the control device of a variable speed motor that can promptly cope with increasing torque. SOLUTION: A controller controls the operation speed of a motor 36 and a variable speed motor being operated at a speed, corresponding to the duty cycle of a pulse width modulation drive voltage supplied to a load which is applied to the motor 36. The controller has a setting switch 40 for setting motor operation speed and a device for measuring a load applied to the motor 31. Also, the controller has a data storage part 42 for storing data which indicates a plurality of different pulse width modulation duty cycles for driving the motor 31 with various loads being applied to the motor 31. A processor 30 is connected to the setting switch 40, the load-measuring device, and a data storage part 47, generates a specific duty cycle corresponding to a desired operation speed setting and an applied load, achieves a desired motor speed, and generates signals for maintaining at specific intervals.
