<p>A process for preparing xylitol, characterized by allowing a microorganism belonging to the genus Gluconobacter, Acetobacter, Achromobacter, Agrobacterium, Arthrobacter, Azotobacter, Brevibacterium, Corynebacterium, Erwinia, Flavobacterium, Micrococcus, Norcardia, Planococcus, Pseudomonas, Rhodococcus, Morganella, Actinomadura, Actinomyces, or Streptomyces and having the capability of converting D-arabitol to xylitol to act on D-arabitol and harvesting the xylitol thus produced.</p> |
