<p>A platform (12) of a wheelchair lift (L) is mounted on a pivotal mechanism (13) that includes two pairs of laterally-spaced parallelogram structures (17) attached to a vehicle (V), for movement from a loading or ground position (G), to entry (E) and stowed (S) positions. A bridge plate (34) hinged to the platform (12) acts as a roll-stop in the ground position (G) and during movement to the entry position (E), and bridges a gap between the platform (12) and the vehicle (V) in the entry position (E). A lock-block (109) on the underside of the bridge plate (34) latches within a well (41) of a base (37) attached to the vehicle (V), when the platform (12) is in the stowed position (S), for positive restraint of the platform (12) in that position. <IMAGE></p> |
