PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an air pump for a free axle from being damaged by a scattered stone or splashed water by providing an air pump for a free axle on the back of a front bumper to effectively use the dead space. SOLUTION: A free axle mechanism is adapted to operate an air pump 18 disposed on the back of a front bumper 17 by switching a transfer switching lever 16 from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive. As the air pump 18 for a free axle is provided in a substantially corner part formed by the rear side of a bumper member 20 disposed on the back side of the front bumper 17 and one of side members 1 for supporting both ends of the bumper member 20, the dead space can be effectively used. Further, as the lower side of the air pump 18 is covered with an extended part 17a of the lower end of the front bumper 17 extended to the rear side of the car body, the air pump 18 can be prevented from being damaged by a scattered stone or splashed water. |
