PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyarylene sulfide composition having improved surface of molding product, excellent surface gloss, heat resistance, moldability and mechanical properties, suitable for automobile, electronic equipment and other part materials requiring heat resistance, mechanical properties and surface smoothness. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyarylene sulfide resin with (B) 1-200 pts.wt. of a mineral fiber or a ceramic fiber having a chemical composition composed of 35-50 wt.% calculated as oxide of SiO2 , 8-20 wt.% of Al2 O3 , 10-40 wt.% of CaO and 3-20 wt.% o f MgO, 2-10μm average diameter and 150-800μm average fiber length [with the proviso that a case in which a glass fiber and/or a carbon fiber in an amount larger than 1/5 the amount of the mineral fiber or the ceramic fiber (by weight ratio) is used is excluded]. |
