PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insulation member having comparatively high heat resistance, flame resistance and high sound absorbency, and suitable as an insulation material for a building structure such as a house, and machinery and tools by tangling polyvinylidene chloride fibers, and binding the fibers with a bridging agent composed of a synthetic resin material. SOLUTION: This insulation member 1 is obtained by tangling polyvinylidene chloride fibers with fibers composed of a synthetic resin having a melting point lower than that of the polyvinylidene chloride, heating the whole of the tangled fibers to melt the fibers having lower melting points and to bind the polyvinylidene chloride fibers, and carrying out a press working of the bound polyvinylidene fibers to provide the insulation member 1 having a prescribed thickness. A sheet with improved insulation properties can be obtained by arranging a nonpermeable sheet 2 on the surface of the insulation member 1. |
