<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the capacity of a memory at the time of texture mapping, to reduce the number of times of data access and to accelerate a texture mapping speed by constituting a texture cache by first and second valid bit areas, a tag area and a refill line area. SOLUTION: The first valid bit area 300 stores data for indicating the presence/absence of the use of texture image batch data put in the pertinent refill line area at the time of texture mapping to a previous scanning line. The second valid bit area 301 stores the data for indicating the presence/absence for the use of the texture image batch data put in the pertinent refill line area 320 at the time of the texture mapping of a present scanning line. In the tag area 310, the image coordinates (u, v) values of texture data are stored. The refill line area 320 stores the texture image batch data corresponding to the image coordinates (u, v) of the tag area 310.</p> |
