PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the transmission speed of unit information by changing the amount of encoding information per unit information to be store tentatively, corresponding to the information amount of a retransmission request. SOLUTION: Among images inputted to an encoder 10, only the ones inputted at a timing specified by an encoding timing control part 12 are stored in a frame memory 11. Then, information is transmitted through a transmission line 16 at a fixed speed at all times. Encoding data received by a decoder 17 through the transmission line 16 are inputted to an error detection part 19. In this case, when transmission errors are generated, the transmission errors are detected by the error detection part 19. The error detection part 19 detects errors by a packet unit for input encoding data, and in the case that the error is detected, generates a retransmission request to a retransmission control part 22 through a different transmission line 21. The retransmission control part 22 which receives the retransmission request stops a transmission buffer 14, instructs retransmission to a retransmission buffer 18 and transmits the information amount of a retransmission packet to an encoding control part 23. |
