<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of obtaining excellent video signals and performing highly accurate black level correction further. SOLUTION: The image pickup signals of a solid-state image pickup element (CCD) 1 are sampled and held in a correlation double sampling circuit 2, A/D converted and then written in a DRAM 5 and further, the data of a valid area and an OB area (optical black part) on the CCD are compressed by a compression/expansion circuit 8 and recorded in a recording medium 9. At the time of reproduction, the compressed data of the recording medium 9 are expanded and video output is obtained. At the time, the boundary part of the valid area and the OB area is turned to a margin area, the output of the area is not provided for a video data processing and the video output is prevented from being affected by incorrect output generated at the boundary part.</p> |
