The prosthesis consists of a tibial plate (2) for anchoring to the upper end of the tibia, and an insert (1) designed to co-operate with a femoral component. The plate and insert have surface projections and recesses: a boss (3) in the middle of the insert's lower surface (4), designed to engage within orifice (5) in the upper surface (6) of the tibial plate.
