A magazine (2) has feeder ducts (3a-d) possessing discharge ends (6) and defined by side guides (7) for conveying tufts of bristles from different bristle-storage parts to a separator (9) for a tamper implement (8). An intermediate conveyor (12) is between the discharge ends of the magazine conveyor ducts and the tuft-separator. The intermediate conveyor has container(s) (14) for transferring tufts of bristles to the separator.
