<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a porous baked material having a water-holding capacity and especially suitable for a brick for placing on the ground surface or a pot for a plant, etc., by blending coffee grounds with clay and baking at a prescribed temperature. CONSTITUTION: This porous baked material is obtained by blending a carbide derived from carbonizing of coffee grounds with clay and baking at about 700-900 deg.C. Preferably, the blending ratio of the carbide of coffee grounds to clay is 1:9-5:5 (by volume ratio). Strength is further increased and clay is economized by further blending ash derived from ashing of coffee grounds with the carbide.</p> |
