<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make recordable/reproducible digital information signals of a plurality of transfer rates mixed in one magnetic tape by making relative adjustment changes so that the angle made between a reference edge and the rotational locus of a rotational magnetic head is a specified track angle to realize a specified track pitch even when the traveling speed of the magnetic tape is changed from a reference speed. SOLUTION: When the transfer rate of a digital information signal to be recorded/reproduced is 1/N of a reference, the traveling speed of a magnetic tape T is changed to 1/N of a reference by a tape traveling control circuit 14. Rotary magnetic heads H1 and H2 on an upper drum 11 always rotated at a specified rotational speed by a drum rotation control circuit 10 are driving- displaced by actuators 13 and 12. By this driving-displacement, the rotational locus of each rotary magnetic head forms a specified track pitch on the magnetic tape T by a specified track pitch even if the traveling speed is changed. Thus, original digital information signals having optional transfer rates are recorded/reproduced in one magnetic tap well.</p> |
