ELECTRON-EMITTING ELEMENT AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron-emitting element and an image display device capable of operating stably at low voltage. SOLUTION: An electron-emitting element having an electron-extracting electrode 14 on which projections are formed is driven at low voltage, and by arranging the electron-extracting electrode having projections immediately above an emitter 12, the orbit of electrons becomes suitable for an image display device. The electron extracting electrode having projections displays effectiveness in triode-type structure. By using this electron extraction electrode 14, the electron-emitting element suitable for the image display device can be formed independent of the shape of the emitter.
