摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medium which has adequate rigidity and is formed with thinner films by regulating the displacement quantity in the perpendicular direction of the medium when the load of a value in a specific range is further applied on the medium in its perpendicular direction from the initial state that the load of the value of the specific range is applied in the longitudinal direction and perpendicular direction of the medium to a specific value or below. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium which is formed with at least one layer of the magnetic layers on a base consisting of polyester based plastic and has the total thickness of 4 to 7.5μm is so regulated as to attain <=30μm in the displacement quantity in the perpendicular direction of the medium when the load of 85 to 100 mgf is further applied on the medium from the initial state that the load of 10 to 20 mgf is applied on the medium in its longitudinal direction and 5 to 15 mgf on the medium in its perpendicular direction. The medium formed with the thinner films in such a manner is capable of making high-density recording and bending reaction or the displacement quantity exists in the range regulated in such a manner, by which the impairment of a head touch is averted.
