Substituted 2,4-diamino-1,3,5-triazine derivatives (I) are new. 2-(Amino, alkylamino or acylamino)-6-((furyl or thienyl)-alkylamino)-1,3,5-triazine derivatives (I) are new: R<1> = H or 1-6C alkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-6C alkoxy; R<2> = R1; or COR<6>; R3 = H; 1-6C alkyl optionally substituted by CN, OH, halo, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, 1-4C alkylsulfinyl or 1-4C alkylsulfonyl; 2-6C alkenyl or alkynyl optionally substituted by halo or 1-4C alkoxy; or 3-6C cycloalkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkyl; R<4> = H; 1-6C alkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkoxy; or 3-6C cycloalkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkyl; R<5> = a group of formula (a) or (b); R<6> = 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, 1-6C alkylamino or di(1-6C alkyl)amino optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkoxy; or 2-6C alkenyl optionally substituted by halo; R<7>, R<10>-R<12> = H; NO2; CN; CONH2; CSNH2; SO2NH2; halo; 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, 1-6C alkylthio, 1-6C alkylsulfinyl, 1-6C alkylsulfonyl, 1-6C alkyl -CO, 1-6C alkoxy-CO, 1-6C alkylaminosulfonyl or di(1-6C alkyl)aminosulfonyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkoxy; cycloalkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkyl; or phenyl, phenoxy or phenylthio optionally substituted by NO2, CN, CONH2, CSNH2, halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C haloalkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C haloalkoxy; R<8>, R<9> = H; NO2; CN; CONH2; CSNH2; SO2NH2; F; Br; methyl substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkoxy; 2-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, 1-6C alkylthio, 1-6C alkylsulfinyl, 1-6C alkylsulfonyl, 1-6C alkyl-CO, 1-6C alkoxy-CO, 1-6C alkylaminosulfonyl or di(1-6C alkyl)aminosulfonyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkoxy; cycloalkyl optionally substituted by CN, halo or 1-4C alkyl; or phenyl, phenoxy or phenylthio optionally substituted by NO2, CN, CONH2, CSNH2, halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C haloalkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C haloalkoxy; Q = O or S. Independent claims are included for: (1) substituted biguanidines of formula (II) and their addition salts, except 1-(2-furyl-methyl or 2-thienyl-methyl)-biguanidine hydrochloride; and (2) preparation of (I).
