<p>The invention relates to a motor vehicle with a clutch which is mounted in the drive train of the motor vehicle and a gear box with a variable step-up ratio. Means are also provided to generate a clutch signal representing actuation of said clutch. The invention is characterised in that variations in the step-up ratio are detected. According to the invention, monitoring means are also provided in order to produce an error signal according to the detected variation and clutch signal generated. The error signal indicates whether the means generating the error signal are working according to plan. In one embodiment of the invention, actuation of the clutch is evaluated once the engine is started and the vehicle moves into an initial operation mode.</p> |
