摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of blowholes and swelling in the stage of a product without reducing the casting speed by achieving the electromagnetic stirring of the molten steel on the inner side of a curved part immediately below a mold when a cast slab is manufactured by a curved type continuous casting machine, and preventing argon bubbles from being captured by a solidified shell boundary surface. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic stirring device 6 is installed on at least an inner side of a curved part immediately below a mold 3, end a molten steel flow 8 is added to the interface of a solidified shell 5 on the inner side of the curved part of the cast slab at a part where the condition of Zm<=2<=Vc.900/(K<2> ), where Z is the distance (m) from the meniscus to the electromagnetic stirring part, Vc is the casting speed (m/min), Zm is the effective length of the mold, i.e., the distance (m) from the meniscus to the lower end of the mold 3, K is the solidification constant (≈25 mm/min<0.5> ). Though argon bubbles 9 blown front a submerged nozzle 2 are dived deeplly downward by the molten steel flow, they are submerged to the electromagnetic stirring eflect, and prevented from being captured at an upper side solidification shell 5 (a part of 30 mm of a cast slab surface layer).
