PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a new compound of a production intermediate used for producing an optical active 2-substituted aminotetralin used as an intermediate for phenylethanolaminotetralins useful for preparing a pharmaceutical preparation having an antispasmodic activity. SOLUTION: The subject compound is a compound of formula I [R<1> is H, OH, a 1-3C alkoxyl, a 1-3C alkyl or a halogen; R<2> is H, an alkoxycarbonyl having a 1-4C alkoxyl, a benzylcarbonyl or p-toluenesulfonyl; R<3> is a 2-5 acyl; (S) is a S-configuration], e.g. 2S-1-acetoxy-2-methoxycarbonylamino-7- methoxytetralin of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by acylating the hydroxyl group at 1-position of 2S-1-hydroxy-2- substituted aminotetralin compound of formula III (e.g. 2S-1-hydroxy-2- methoxycarbonylamino-7-methoxytetralin of formula IV). |
