PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rust-preventive oil compsn. which forms a rust-preventive film exhibiting a self-restoring capability when damaged and does not precipitate additives contained in a water-soluble process oil, etc., by compounding a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil as the base oil with specified amts. of a lanolin fatty acid deriv. and a vegetable oil or fat. SOLUTION: A mineral oil having a viscosity at 40 deg.C of 1-50 mm<2> /s and an arom. content of 20% or lower and/or a synthetic oil having a viscosity at 40 deg.C of 1-50 mm<2> /s, as the base oil, is compounded with, based on the resulting compsn., 1-30 wt.% lanolin fatty acid deriv. having a total acid value of 3-25 mgKOH/g and prepd. by converting at least a part of the fatty acids in lanolin into salts of an alkaline earth metal and/or an alkali metal and 1-30 wt.% vegetable oil having an iodine value of 100 or higher. If necessary, up to 10 wt.% other rust preventives, 0.01-1 wt.% antioxidant, 1-1,000 ppm corrosion preventive, etc., may be added to the resulting compsn. |
