<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve translation accuracy by performing analysis while flexibly corresponding to various kinds of layout information contained in an original sentence, more exactly recognizing a translation object range and translating the original sentence in the recognized translation object range into the other language. SOLUTION: An external storage medium 19 stores a control program for the computer control of a translation device. According to this control program, when the original sentence in a natural language is inputted from an input part 1, the microcomputer of a general-purpose processing part 7 analyzes this original sentence flexibly corresponding to the layout information composed of a cascade, notes, numbered notes, labeled notes and separator lines. Based on the analyzed layout information, a layout analytic part 17 exactly recognizes the translation object range and while using contents in a dictionary part 3, a translation processing part 4 translates the original sentence in the recognized translation object range to the other language. The translated sentence is outputted from an output part 6. Thus, translation accuracy can be improved.</p> |
