PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ti alloy suitable for building interior materials or the like requiring antibacterial properteisand for ocean structures or the like requir ing organism adhesion-resistance. SOLUTION: This alloy has a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.1 to <2.0% Cu, 0.01 to 0.3% Fe, and the balance Ti with inevitable impurities and has theαphase and at least one phase of theβphase in which Cu is concentrated and the Ti2 Cu phase. Furthermore, by subjecting it to working of >=20% draft at the transus temp. or below and holding it at 600 deg.C to less than theβtransus temp. for >=1 min, excellent workability can be imparted thereto. Furthermore, by executing cooling from the temp. of more than theβtransus-100 deg.C to less than theβtransus at a cooling rate of that of air cooling or above and holding it in the temp. range of 400 to 700 deg.C for 1 to 10 hr, high strength can be imparted thereto.
