PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a hydrosilylation reaction between a silicon compound and an alkenyl group (C-C unsaturated bond)-bearing compound in the presence of a group VIII metal-contg. catalyst and a sulfur compound. SOLUTION: This hydrosilylation reaction is carried out between a silicon compound of the formula; Ra Xb Hc Si (R is a 1-20C alkyl, aryl or triorganosiloxy; when (a) is >=2, Rs may be the same as or different from one another; X is a halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy or H; when (b) is >=2, Xs may be the same as or different from one another; (a) and (b) are each 0-3; (c) is 1-3; (a+b+c)=4) and an alkenyl group (C-C unsaturated bond)-bearing compound in the presence of a group VIII metal-contg. catalyst and a sulfur compound at 30-200 deg.C; wherein the molar ratio of the sulfur compound of the catalyst is 0.1-10; thereby, the rate of the above reaction is promoted, affording the reaction product stably; furthermore, cost reduction is attained through minimization of catalyst consumption, resulting in higher purity of the reaction product. |
