Display operating surface control method for communicating peripheral

The control method uses stored display texts for the display operating surface (BOF) in a number of alternate languages. The languages are selected with a 'language selection button' on the peripheral, by the user. The communications system has a language identifier for the current set language of each peripheral display unit. In the case of an incoming call or display text transmission from the system, the text will be transmitted in the set language. Each stored display text has an associated text identifier, with the actual text used by the display operating surface at the peripheral stored in a display memory, together with the text identifier.
