PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating mixed resins in a mixed bed ion exchange tower effectively at a low cost. SOLUTION: This separation method separates mixed resins in a mixed bed ion exchange resin tower comprising a strong basic anion exchange resin and a weak acid cation exchange resin. In this case, the mixed resins are subjected to reverse washing development with a strong acid such as chloric acid, sulfuric acid so as to be separated into a strong basic anion exchange resin layer and a weak acid cation ion exchange resin layer.
