<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength characteristics such as high strength and high touchiness by arranging a metallic glass face, which is formed by melting metallic material filled on a hearth, pressing it, deforming it into a desired shape by applying at least either of compressive stress or shear stress to the melted metal, and cooling it. SOLUTION: A metallic glass face 4 is arranged in a club face of a head 3 in each of golf clubs 1, 5. In production of the metallic glass face 4, firstly, face constituting metallic material such as a mixture of powder and pellets of high amorphous forming ability metal desirably is filled on a hearth such as a recess type water cooling copper made hearth, for example. Secondly, after evacuation of the inside of a chamber desirably, the metallic material is melted by means of a high energy heat source such as an arc heat source while the heath is kept as it is or cooled down forcibly. Then, this melted metal is put between casting mold so as to be pressed, and compressive stress or shear stress is applied to the melted metal so as to form it into a desired shape, and then, the metal is cooled so as to be provided as the face 4.</p> |
