PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working device in which the function of a working device of either type of a position transfer type working device and a pressure transfer type working device can be exercised by one working device, the working method can be selected at random according to the working object, and a static pressure bearing which can control the pressure is provided in the bearing of a main spindle having a working operation surface. SOLUTION: In this working device, a main shaft (an outer member 1) having a working operation surface (a grinding action surface 11) is supported by a hydrostatic pressure medium. A position transfer action and a pressure transfer action in the working operation surface (grinding action surface 11) can be selected changeably by a change-over switch, and the position information of the main shaft (the outer member 1) of the working operation surface (grinding work surface 11), and the pressure information of the hydrostatic pressure medium to support the main shaft (the outer member 1) of the working operation surface (grinding action surface 11), are calculated as an adequate pressure of the hydrostatic pressure medium according to the working object, and it is feedbacked to the hydrostatic pressure bearing 4 of the main spindle. |
