Hydraulic underwater coupling with locking mechanism

The coupling has a male portion with a cylindrical outer surface and shoulder. A guide socket fixed to one end of this portion at one end contains two or more lengthwise slots at the other. One of these extends to the socket end and the other ends above the latter, while a slot running in the peripheral direction connects them to each other. A component with a lengthwise bore fits inside the socket, a spring bearing against the shoulder acting against it. An external radial pin on the component works in the first slot, and the component is then turned to bring the pin into line with the second slot, into which it is thrust by the spring so as to lock the component in place.
