The offcut press has a turning lifting plate (2) in a shaft. A traction rod (3) moves in the rear wall and is pivoted to it. The traction rod can be connected to and disconnected from the press plate (C) to eject the bale (A) using a coupling part in the form of a connecting unit. It can be forcibly mechanically coupled or released, depending on the position of the front door (F) which closes the shaft.
