PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture reproducing apparatus having a non-interlace converting function with a simple constitution and at low cost. SOLUTION: This reproducing apparatus is provided with an MPEG decoder 1 decoding inputted coded picture signal based on decoded picture signal of the current field and the preceding field/the preceding frame stored in a decode memory 17 and a decode memory control part 18, which respectively stores addresses of the picture signals of the current field and the preceding field/the preceding frame stored in the memory 17 and which controls read timings of the respective picture signals from the addresses, and an apparatus is constituted so as to interpolate the lines of the current field, based on the picture signals of the current field and the preceding field/the preceding frame read out from the memory 17 according to an instruction of the control part 18 and produce a picture signal. |
