PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat resistant polypropylene metallized film capacitor absent in rise of tanδin use at high temperatures and small in variation of capacitance. SOLUTION: Using a biaxially oriented polypropylene film manufactured by a sequential biaxially orienting method of which thermal contraction percentage at 120 deg.C is 2.0% or less in film winding direction and 0.5% or less in lateral direction and 5% elongation stress in film flow direction is 49 MPa or higher, a metallized film is formed by applying metallic vapor onto at least one surface of it, and an element on which the metallized film is wound is thermally pressed. In this case, the thermal pressing is performed in vacuum for two hours or longer after the temperature is raised from room temperature to 120 to 130 deg.C at the rate of 0.3 to 1 deg.C/min.
