The clamp comprises a base (3) fixed to the machine tool table, with a lever assembly (1) turning about a horizontal pivot (2). The forward end of the assembly thrusts against the work piece and the rear end against the base, with the work piece locked in place by a clamp screw (12) tensioned by a wrench (17) and acting directly on the work piece. The rear end of the lever assembly interacts with a recess in the base via an adjuster screw (6) and nut, while the base is fixed to the table by screw which passes through the base and engages with a threaded hole in a block which acts as a nut.
