PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, wherein a vicinity landmark name corresponding appropriately to the kind and scale level that a user requires is displayed on a displayed map. SOLUTION: At a vicinity landmark name display selection part 14, a map number of a vicinity landmark name which is to be displayed together with a map is decided. Then, from the map number and such information as scale level and kind of a vicinity landmark name required by a user and inputted at an input device 11, such vicinity landmark name as appropriate corresponding to the kind and scale level and required by a user, and a displayed map data are retrieved and read out of a vicinity landmark name storage device part 15, and then outputted to a control part 13. Then, at a control part 13, current position, map data, and vicinity landmark name are combined, and displayed on a display device part 16. |
