A spacer element (6) used to create and maintain a gap between two adjacent concrete blocks resting on a sloping surface such as a dike embankment, is constructed from two or more elongated interspaced strips (12, 13) with essentially the same width, which extend in the main plane of the spacer element in its length direction and are joined together by at least one cross-direction connector piece (14, 15). Each length direction strip is provided with two or more flat, elongated, interconnected and interspaced ribs (16-18), whose main planes extend at right angles to the main plane of the spacer element. Also claimed is a sloping surface covered with concrete blocks that have these spacer elements in between them .
|
